Spring 2008 Issue of infoarabe magazine

Bozenka made the cover and is featured in InfoArabe (Latin America's leading Bellydance magazine) after teaching a very successful workshop in Buenos Aires, Argentina where the magazine is based. Info Arabe sponsored Bozenka to teach two workshops that were attended by over 400 students and produced a sold out theatre show that featured some of Argentina's leading artists featuring Bozenka.

"Bozenka Wins Golden Crown in Cairo, Egypt"

On the 4th of July 2006, Bozenka was crowned Miss "Ahlan Wa Sahlan" in Cairo, Egypt after participating in the annual festivals dance competition. The "Ahlan Wa Sahlan" is Cairo’s biggest and first week-long bellydance festival where over 2,000 dancers from all over the world travel to partake in dance workshops and come to perform on the festivals main stage. Many dancers dream about one day performing in Cairo and Bozenka was no exception. She went this summer to participate in the festival taking folkloric dance classes, sightseeing, learning about Egyptian culture and keeping up with the rapid changing bellydance fashions by visiting bazaars. Bozenka entered the festivals competition and was one of 150 dancers to participate. The "Ahlan Wa Sahlan" competition is not only prestigious because it is in Cairo (the heart of where bellydance comes from) but also because the judges were among the most famous Egyptian choreographers and performers of our time. [Momo Kadous, Dr. Mo Gedawi, and Mona El Said to name a few]

Bozenka performed on the first of the four nights of competition. After the fourth night, she was chosen to dance in the finals on the fifth night along with 3 other finalists. On the fifth night, she was crowned and took first place. The news traveled around the globe faster than she could call home with the big news. Family and friends found out the outcome while watching CNN cover the story from Cairo. This has been an unforgettable experience for Bozenka...one that she will cherish her entire lifetime.
